The Management of Jackson College of Education has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for keeping one of the flagship campaign promises of the New Patriotic Party, the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy.
Making a presentation on behalf of the College to the Minister of Education, Hon. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Prof Ebenezer A. Jackson, Director of the College, lauded the efforts of the government in the area of education.
In an interview with the media, Prof Jackson indicated that he expects the Free SHS programme to significantly enhance access to education in the country.
Prof Jackson said the Jackson College of Education will collaborate effectively with the government in the training of professional teachers to impart relevant knowledge to the Pupils in basic schools across the country.
Receiving the crystal plaque from Prof Jackson, the Minister of Education commended the College for recognising the sterling performance of the government in the education sector.
In a related development, the college presented a similar crystal plaque to the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum.
Prof Jackson was accompanied by Mr Michael Ampong, the Public Relations Officer of the College.
