UPHOLD ETHICAL STANDARDS OF TEACHING – Mrs Theodosia Jackson
The Principal of Jackson College of Education, Mrs Theodosia Jackson has urged teachers to stick to professional ethics and work hard to raise academic performance in the schools.
Interacting with some graduates of the College, Mrs Jackson said they need to put in more efforts to prepare learners not only for examinations but also, for lifetime careers.
The Principal added that no country can afford to neglect the education of its youth since an ignorant society cannot explore and develop its natural resources and innate talents to improve the living standards of the people.
According to her, teaching is not only a calling but a profession which members need positive attitudes in executing their professional responsibilities. This, she believes has become imperative since, teaching directly deals with the human mind, and more especially, the intellect of children at the basic school level.
According to her, teachers contribute immensely in moulding the character of children at their developmental stage, hence the need to have patience, passion, love and a positive attitude towards the profession.
