Jackson College of Education (JCE) held a Matriculation ceremony on July 20, 2018, to confer studentship on newly admitted freshmen of the College. Students were formally welcomed to the College for the 2017/2018 Academic Year.
The Principal of the College, Mrs. Theodosia Jackson, addressing the matriculants at a colourful event at the KNUST Royal Parade Grounds in Kumasi, highlighted the great strides being made by JCE to assist in the human resource development of the nation by imparting high quality education as a good foundation for students to enable them gain a vocation and a brighter future through Distance Learning.
She admonished the students to realise their role in this vision by internalising the institution’s core values which are hinged on Academic Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Stewardship and Life-Long Learning.
She encouraged them to hold the flaming torch of these values high and improve the standards of the institution to enable JCE to become the best Teacher Training College of Education in the country.
Mrs Theodosia Jackson also highlighted the infrastructure and systems coupled with interactive modules put in place by the College in adopting a holistic venture that allows students to play a key role in the delivery of quality education in the country.
Mr Ebenezer A. Jackson, The Registrar of the College, administered the Matriculation Oath to confer membership status on the new students into the College while the Director of the College Prof. E. A Jackson delivered the Matriculation Pronouncement.
The Matriculation ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Council of JCE, Professor Samuel Kofi Afrane, the Deputy Director of the College, Mr Daniel Ebo Jackson, the Ag. Vice Principal Academic, Mr Owusu Afriyie, Mrs Jemima Kissiedu, a member of the College’s Council, and coordinators and supervisors from the various learning centres in Ghana.
