Jackson University College

Jackson University College (JUC), formerly Jackson Educational Complex (JEC) was established in the year 2009 by Prof. Ebenezer Asafua Jackson and Mrs. Theodosia Wilhelmina Jackson, both educationists, who had spent over forty years each, as teachers in universities and secondary schools, respectively, to provide quality education in Ghana and beyond, beginning right from the Basic Level (Early Childhood) to the Tertiary Level.

The Jackson College of Education (JCE) is the teacher education division of JUC, headquartered in Kumasi. It is the first private college of education in Ghana to run by the distance learning model. The College, affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), was established in the year 2009 to run a 3-year Diploma Programme in Basic Education. Currently, however, in line with the curriculum reforms championed by the Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL), the College now runs a 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme and a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programme in about 30 learning centres across Ghana using the blended model (in-person and online).

By the grace of God, JUC established two additional institutes in the year 2020, namely, the Jackson Institute of Innovation and Leadership (JIIL), and the Jackson Institute of Technology (JIT). JIIL is affiliated to the Independent Institute of Education (IIE), South Africa, to offer the IIE Bachelor of Business Administration and the IIE Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) degrees. JIT, in partnership with NIIT India, also offers industry-based courses to individuals and institutions to produce experts in the technology industry.
